Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to, responding to questions from employees and/or customers; identifying and implementing solutions; interpreting information and applying rules and agreements; initiating and processing correspondence via various communication channels; investigating and adjusting claims and billing disputes; and maintaining confidential information. PAYROLL/TIMEKEEPING: Maintain payroll-related information in both the timekeeping and payroll systems, such as direct deposit banking information, tax withholding instructions, and deduction information, including legal deductions, position assignment and time record adjustments. Respond to questions from employees concerning their hours worked and paycheck information, which includes understanding labor agreements for various position types for our Engineering & Mechanical employees. Work various reports from timekeeping and/or payroll system(s) to ensure payroll close timelines are met and payments are accurate. ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE (COLLECTIONS): Perform activities associated with collection, reconciliation, settlement and/or progression of accounts receivable. Payments may be by bank draft, electronic funds transfer, paper check or other bank plan payment arrangements. Responsibilities include mailing freight bills; investigating and/or transfer of bills short paid or rejected by customer; preparation and/or initiation of files for Credit Department, collection agency referral or management disposition; initiate and process customer correspondence; recommend adjusting of inaccurate freight invoices through the correction process. CARRIER SERVICES: Perform activities associated with the processing, validation and settlement of BNSF payables and receivables related to other railroads. Generate bills and claims to other railroads, and review and validate bills and claims received from other railroads. Investigate root cause of issues and work with other BNSF departments and other railroads to identify and implement solutions. Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED

Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English
Available to work a 40-hour work week subject to overtime that may include weeknights, weekends and holidays

Able to type, without errors, at the required speed as indicated by the job posting
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable training and/or work experience in an administrative function within an office environment
Able to handle multiple projects and duties simultaneously, accurately input data into computer systems and sit for long periods of time
Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and Access) and have used it in school and/or at work
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable training and/or work experience resolving internal and/or external customer issues via telephone and/or email correspondence
Pay rates are listed at entry rate. Entry rate is 85% of full pay rate, to increase 5% per year until at 100%. TRAINING: Company paid on the job training is provided. RELOCATION: Relocation assistance is not available for this position. WORK CONDITIONS: Indoor, office environment. PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 60 days. TRAVEL: Minimal. SHIFTS/HOURS: Work weeks are 40 hours per week. Typically, shifts are weekdays, Monday through Friday during normal business hours. May be subject to overtime, weekends and holidays. UNION: Transportation Communications Union. DUES: Per the collective bargaining agreement, union membership and monthly dues are required.
