General Repair Technician with Security Clearance

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a General Repair Technician to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals.
The General Repair Technician works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.
The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts.
Examples:
repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level.
The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our General Repair Technician applies working technical knowledge to perform repairs on various types of equipment.
Specific tasks include:
Performs testing and repair of electronic and electromechanical equipment using common hand tools and test equipment Diagnose and repair items to the sub-assembly level Follow instructions which cover most procedures Receives technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level technicians Work is given detailed review when new or advanced assignments are involved Work may include soldering, crimping, replacing/repairing connectors, etc Performs other related duties as assigned#USPSCRF2023 Qualifications Basic
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent One or more of the following:
Formal technical training (military or civilian) Technical certification One-year of experience in technical service, repair, testing, or assembly Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance required to start Must have ability to perform repairs on electronic/electromechanical items such as printers and computers Experience with reading and interpreting diagrams Ability to read and interpret exploded view assembly drawings Ability to utilize hand and power tools to repair mechanical and electromechanical assemblies / end items Understanding of basic troubleshooting techniquesPreferred
Qualifications:
Experience with handling of ESD sensitive items J-STD-001 certification Certification, experience, or training in systems diagnostics and repair A
Certification or computer repair experiencePhysical Requirements:

Target Salary Range The rate / range per hour below represents the typical pay for this position based on experience and other factors.
