Housekeeping Aid
The Major Duties of a Housekeeping Aid include, but are not limited to the following:
o Performs housekeeping aid duties for which general instructions are received and which require supervision.
o Uses manual, electrical and battery industrial type powered equipment such as mops, squeegees, burnishers, sponges, upright vacuum cleaner, wet/dry vacuums, electrical or battery powered auto scrubbers, power washers, electrical shampoo machines.
Maintains supply, strict discipline and accountability of issued manual tools and equipment/supplies.
Sweeps, mops, dusts, cleans, polishes, strips, refinish and burnish floors, wash walls, windows, beds, ceiling and all vertical and horizontal surfaces, removes stains from floors, i.

, coffee, soft drinks, chewing gum, tar, etc.
o Routinely uses soaps, polishes, detergents, disinfectants, stripper, sealer and floor finish.
Removes soiled and contaminated linens from work area to soiled linen rooms, removes contaminated and uncontaminated trash, changes needle boxes, disposal of mercury spills, treats areas infected with lice.
o Cleans blood/body fluid spills.
Removes 40-50 pound trash cans and empties them into large trash compactor/dumpsters, move heavy file cabinets, desk and other furniture as necessary Work Schedule:
