Engineering Technician

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepares design and specifications for construction and maintenance work; Participates in engineering surveys; Initiates, formulates, and adapts design plans and specifications; Utilizes AutoCADD computer system to implement the finished product in Building Information Modeling (BIM); Maintains the Capital Asset Inventory database; Prepares CADD drawings that involve a variety of branches of Engineering and include such diverse items as building designs, floor plans, steel stairways and platforms, structures, roadways, parking facilities, land contours and drainage patterns, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning and electrical systems; Develops contract drawings using current version of AutoCADD and Revit; Works with Geo Information Systems/Building Information Modeling (BIM); Manages CADD files; Processes submittals, progress payments, payroll reports, progress reports and all other necessary correspondence or documentation to ensure that the construction is completed in accordance with the contract; Serves as a COR (Contracting Officers Representative); and Performs other duties as assigned Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Technical work in drafting, surveying, construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test or design responsibilities such as:
Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes. Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or developmental work on devices fabricated. Preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
