As the Food Service Worker Supervisor assigned to Nutrition & Food Service located at Eastern Kansas Health Care System, Topeka, KS your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Serves as first-line supervisor over food service workers assigned to Room service, buffet delivery service, tray assembly, tray delivery and dishwashing/sanitation assignments. Uses a thorough working knowledge of the principles and problems of food preparation, food service, safety and sanitation. Plans the day-to-day activities, handles deviations according to established procedures, and resolves problems that arise in accordance with appropriate standards and practices. Recommendations and decisions made by the incumbent are reviewed for technical soundness and appropriateness in relation to the nature of the situation. Provides input to the resolution of sensitive and controversial issues. Develops, documents, and evaluates standards of work performance, to include counseling as appropriate. Work Schedule:

Experience:

Applicant must obtain Serv-Safe Manager certification within 90 days of employment. Must posses and provide a copy of a valid driver's license,. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements:
Requires mainly standing (8 hours) and walking (8 hours) but requires some bending (1 hour), stooping, reaching (above shoulder), pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of lifting devices or other employees. Some activities are sedentary, requiring work at a computer terminal. Working Conditions:
Work involves regular and recurring exposure to extremes of temperature, humidity, wet floors, and various hazards from food service equipment and noise found in an institutional food service environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
