The duties of a Housekeeping Aid Supervisor include but are not limited to:
Responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising environmental care activities consisting of environmental sanitation, bed cleaning program, Incentive Therapy Program, Compensated Work Therapy Program and training of employees in the work performed in the unit and for the proper functioning of that unit. As the supervisor in the unit, the incumbent develops work schedules, determines manpower and material requirements, establishes priorities and deadlines, determines the number and types of employees needed, assesses training needs, and develops training plans to meet those needs. The incumbent also implements corrective actions to resolve work problems. Responsible for instructing employees in work operations and conducts inspections of work while in progress and completed. Incumbent approves planned leave/ excused leave, initiates and formulates disciplinary actions, counsel employees on job performance, and initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment. Makes oral and written reports regarding progress of work assignments, projects and sanitation inspections. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Current Housekeeping Aids within the VA who are non-preference eligible (non veterans) are eligible to apply for promotion or reassignment. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/10/2020. Your background must demonstrate experience in a variety of cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors; cleaning surfaces such as light fixtures, venetian blinds, and counter-tops; and cleaning restroom facilities including toilets, baths, and sinks.
Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work schedules, determining manpower, tools, and equipment (related to housekeeping). 5. Dexterity and Safety (knowledge of all safety rules, regulations and ability to insure subordinate employees follow them). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
A physical examination will be required. Some heavy lifting (equipment and materials), movement of furniture required along with the stamina to perform physical labor. Incumbent must be physically able to do continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 40-50 pounds. Arduous physical effort is required in the performance of manual tasks described; such as washing walls above five feet and operating powered equipment over extended periods of time when providing training to employees etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
